Disjointed ramblings.
I bid Adam's sister farewell on Saturday night. Sarah's off to Manchester for two years to see her boyf. Nice bloke, he is. She'll be missed. Sometimes I wish that she was my own sister. Watched the unfortunate Wallabies v. All Blacks game at her farewell drinks at P.J. Gallaghers in Drummoyne. Perved on hot bar man. Ate some really nice pie - Guiness and beef pie. Mmm.
Ran into Tony, an ex, on the train the other day and we had a chat. It was pretty good seeing him again. He's special. I mean, he wasn't my first boy but well, he was the first-- anyway he was looking good.
I can't take rugby league seriously. If that makes me some kind of snob, then be it so. I just think there's something suss about a game where the players' jerseys aren't dirty by full time.
Today was the second day of CityRail's new timetable and in my experiences so far, it's all good. The train from mum's place to uni had to wait at various stations for the timetable to catch up. I haven't heard any whinging commuters yet. Ahh whinging commuters: how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
In other CityRail related ramblings, is it just me or do the R/S sets in Sector One all smell a little? Like, all musty and such. What do they do to them down at Mortdale MC? Heh, only a gunzel would know what I'm on about. How esoteric of me.
I was touched by a guest posting that spunky Agent FareEvader did on Desci's MelbourneHumanFemale. Honest, funny, sweet. And then he wonders why he has gay boys all over the country fawning over him.
Australian Nobel Laureate and immunologist Professor Peter Doherty was on Andrew Denton's Enough Rope on ABC TV tonight. Amongst other things, he loves are being proven right through experiments and being proven wrong through experiments, too. Sometimes when one is stuck in the quagmire known as a science degree, it's always refreshing to hear a few words of wisdom from the people in the field who love what they do. People like Dr Karl and my high school physics teacher gave me my direction and I'm thankful for it. I might have to post about why I want to become a science/physics teacher some day. That's for another time, I suppose.
