My kingdom for methyl m-nitrobenzoate.

Five out of my eight hours at uni today was spent in chemistry. Fun times. Erm, yeah...

While I was synthesising m-nitrobenzoic acid from methyl benzoate in the second-year organic lab, Aaron was downstairs in the first-year labs breaking things. I used to think I was king of breaking lab equipment but evidently I've had the crown taken from me. Four burettes, a pipette, two pipette pumps and a conical flask, all written off at the hands of Aaron. And that was just from today's first-year titration assessment task. All I broke in that assessment last year was a volumetric flask.

I've noticed that a woman comes out of the prep room to clean the blackboards after lectures in the chemistry theatres. She uses an Enjo glove. I find that amusing. Sadly, that's as exciting as my day got.
