Holidays: last day today.
So four months of holidays ends today; tomorrow, another semester of university starts up. Hmm. I'm actually looking forward to it. But that'll probably soon change.
I spent the day doing mundane domestic things. They're not normally blogworthy but I feel the need to tell youse all about it.
I woke up and cooked breakfast: bacon and eggs. Oh gosh, I love bacon and eggs. But they're so greasily bad for me. Even though, after having bacon and eggs for breakfast a couple of mornings every week for the last four months, I've managed to lose just under a kilo.
Went back to bed before waking up again later to cook Sunday lunch for the family. I went all out and did steak and veg. Lunch was also very unhealthy - cooked the steaks in a pan in butter, then used the glaze and made a red wine sauce.
Did a load of washing after that. Then I changed the oil and the spark plugs on the lawnmower so my uncle could finish cutting the grass in the backyard, which had laid half-over grown for the last week since the mower died.
While the mower grease was still on my hands, I cleaned my bike chain in a bucket of petrol (which works amazingly well). More on the progress of the bike-rebuild later.
I showered and packed before heading to Dad's house - my home during uni semester. Catching the late-Sunday afternoon train is always fun for one reason or another. It can be a nice, leisurely trip on a near empty, all stops service. Or sometimes, like today, the carriage is full of loud fare-evading Westies who scatter like mice when they sniff a Transit Officer approaching. Oh, good times, good times.
So the first few hours with Dad have been okay. No fights, disagreements and/or arguments yet, thankfully. We'll see.
EDIT: Oh and if you're wondering about Mardi Gras, I didn't go - I pubbed it up instead. It ended up being quite a straight night, ironically.
