The weekend: Lauren+vodka & Tropfest.
It was nice to see the weekend start off with the victory of the NSW Waratahs over the Waikato Chiefs in the Super 12 rugby union on Friday night.
Lauren's parents were away (they'd gone up to the Hunter Valley) so Adam, Steph and I went over last night to keep her company. During which time, much pizza was consumed. Of course, Adam and Steph are the responsible ones in our little circle of friends; you wouldn't expect any less from these two, who are well on their way to married family life. Lauren and I on the other hand could do with some work. Lauren's a bad influence on me (in a good way!) and that's one of the reasons of why I wuv her. So the responsible ones steered clear of the alcomohol - you'd have to hope so, seeing as they were driving.
Adam and Steph had to go earlyish so we had nothing to do. And seeing as we were full of cheese, the vodka hadn't hit Lauren and I just yet. Invariably, like most nights that Lauren and I are together, we ended up at Stonewall. Which meant more alcohol. And lots of hot boys.
But then the cheese and alcohol kicked in. Cheese-stuffed crust might sound like a good idea but when you've eaten a lot of it, followed by a large and fast consumption of pixie juice your mind rapidly changes.
So we went home to hers, gossipped, bitched, D&M'ed and eventually crashed. Mum was really happy to hear that I'd stayed over at a girl's house.
Watched TRL on MTV this morning after I woke up. I want to have Jason Dundas' children.
Tropfest tonight was good. The films were pretty awesome and I briefly met up with Tony - the ex-boyfriend Tony - before the films started rolling. Almost exactly a year ago, Tony and I were at Tropfest together.
I remember when we kissed that night. There were these two blokey buff guys, who were straight as nails, sitting in front of us with their girlfriends. At some point during the night, the girls had scampered off and the blokes were on their own. Tony and I were snuggling and lips inevitably met lips. The blokes noticed and it seemed like they'd never seen two boys kiss before - and they'd find ways to surreptitiously have another look, just to make sure they were really seeing what they were seeing.
That was Tropfest 2004 (TSI: Hook). At Tropfest 2005 (TSI: Umbrella), Tony and I caught up on each other's lives. We hadn't seen each other for months and months and heaps had happened in that time. But he was still the same - the same boy-next-door kind of boy that I'd fallen for over a year ago. When he came over to where we had our picnic blanket laid out tonight, he came bearing jelly shots for Steph and I. Nice boy. I think we could be really good mates.
