At 11am AEST today, Triple J turned 30. Amongst everything that Gough Whitlam's Labor Government (1972-75) gave us, Triple J (formerly 2JJ) still stands strong. And despite funding cuts to the ABC, the Jays don't look like being eroded by the current Howard Government much like those other Whitlam initiatives have, namely Medicare/Medibank, freely accessible tertiary education and indigenous affairs.



Here's to 30 more years of a culturally, musically and politically progressive youth radio station that is focused on more than just chasing the almighty dollar, vain commercialism and regurgitating safe, shallow, monotonous content.
